Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has confess that he didn’t really know some of the persons he appointed as ministers in 2015. He said this during a maiden meeting with the new leadership of the National Assembly at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa on Thursday, July 11, 2019, Buhari also said some of the persons named ministers in his 1st term were foisted on him by his political party, APC. Buhari: “The last cabinet which I headed, most of them, the majority of them I didn’t know them. I had to accept the names and recommendations from the party and other individuals”. The president also said while he is under immense pressure to name his 2nd term team, he would only appoint persons he really knows and can vouch for, this time out. The Nigerian leader infamously took six months to unveil his team after winning the presidential election of 2015. Two months after his 2nd term inauguration and 5 months after he won re-election, Buhari is yet to transmit a cabinet list to parliament for vetting and clearance, leaving a section of Nigerians wondering if history is about to repeat itself.
